Fun filled summer day...

Today was a fabulous day! It was mostly sunny all day long with a few dark clouds that moved in and moved on! Lincoln and I went to the sprinkler park to catch some sun! He had a blast and I must say I did too just watching him running and splashing. There were kids everywhere and I think that made it that much more fun.

Waiting patiently for the water to turn back on...

Ahhh, that's better!

A dark cloud moved in so everyone started to pack up to leave ...but Lincoln decided he'd like to take one last run through the rainbow...

After running and splashing for about an hour, we dried off, changed clothes and headed across the parking lot to the playground for a little while! Lincoln enjoyed the slides and the monkey bars, but mostly he just relaxed in the swing! I think he was starting to wined down from the sprinkler park.

Before heading home, we made one last stop! THE STRAWBERRY PATCH at Shelby Farms. It was so much fun! We noticed it on our way to the park and I was hoping he would still be awake long enough to do it too! He did! He enjoyed it as much as I did! He walked through the patch with his little bucket like a natural! He was so funny, he even told me not to pick certain ones because they were "yucky" (the bugs or birds had eaten those). I will have to remember this every summer because it was such a great ending to our afternoon.

I just love this picture of him walking through the patch!

Today was a great day with my special boy and I'm looking forward to the rest of our fun filled summer days!

Blue cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears...

Just like his Daddy orders his!!!! Yep! Lincoln not only looks like his Daddy, big eyebrows and all, he orders his ice cream the exact same way, too! Blue cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears on top! Last week we went to Cold Stone with Molly and Lincoln discovered he is his dad made over!

I took Lincoln to Baskin Robbins a few weeks ago and he wanted blue ice cream, so I told the lady to give me whatever she had that was blue, well she gave me Daquairi Ice ...yep, not really blue, more a translucent green color and a little tart for a 2 year old! He hated it and decided that when at Baskin Robbins he likes Orange ice cream instead! Sherbert that is!!!! I guess at that age its more about the color than anything! :)

Lincoln loves everything about Cotton Candy BLUE!!!! :)

Sorry about the crazy hair, we normally fix his hair several times a day in the morning and after his nap, think we missed the one after his nap and before leaving the house because his hair is CRAZY in this picture!!! :) ha!

Memorial Day in Carriere...

Lincoln and I went to see Nana & Poppy this weekend while Ash went to a wedding in Ohio. We had a great time. We joked that we hardly left the house the whole weekend except to go to dinner Friday night and once to the store ...but those to me are the best kinds of weekends with family. They live on several acres so there was much room to run, so Lincoln was in heaven. Friday night we went out for catfish and it was so yummy. It was so rainy this weekend, so we spent most of our time inside or on the porch playing. We did get in the pool for a few minutes on Saturday afternoon. Lincoln didn't like it much because it was still pretty cold, so he stood on the side and played catch with Poppy and the beach ball!

In between rain showers Lincoln took the opportunity to run as much as he could. This kid ...ran, ran, and ran some more! I have the pictures to prove it! ha

Lincoln helped Poppy with the yard work, too! Nana cut the grass with the riding mower, Poppy weedeated, Lincoln helped carry off the grass and I ...well, I watched and took pictures! :) I had the most important job, I supervised! haha!

Lincoln and I played hide & go seek. All the trees everywhere made for great hiding spots for Lincoln!

The trees were great for peeling bark too!

Poppy and Lincoln fed the birds and blew lots of bubbles, too!

And Lincoln even enjoyed a little time in the rain ...catching rain drops on his tongue and jumping in puddles!

And if all of that didn't sound like great enough, I saved the best for last! JANET's RED BEANS AND RICE!!! Oh my! It was by far my favorite part of the trip! She makes the best ones and even shared her secrets and gave me a little cooking class! :)

We had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip down to visit!

Hide-and-go-seek...

Lincoln woke up from his nap in the best little mood ...that is not always the case! But yesterday he was so sweet and so loving! He wanted to play hide and go seek right away! I have realized that playing this game with a 2 year old is by far the best age. They are still at that age where when you say, "Where are you" that they will still giggle, like as long as you can't see them, you won't be able to hear them either! And that you won't find them even if they hide in the same spot over and over! ha! I absolutely love that and it makes me smile so big! We had the best time playing! I even managed to get a few pics of it too! (Ha-imagine that!)

Funny faces ...some dirty, some clean and even a few devilish ones

Here are some recent pictures of Lincoln that I thought were sweet and wanted to share! He's such a crazy kid with some of the greatest little expressions...

Yummy chocolate ice cream cone face...

Clean, bath tub faces...

Devilish faces...

Hope you all found them as amusing as I do! Maybe its just because I'm mom! :) ha!

Weekend full of celebrating...

This past weekend was not only Mother's Day, but Monday was our 4th wedding anniversary! We had a busy weekend! Friday night Ash and I ended up going out on a date to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time. We had dinner at Bhan Thai and then headed to our hookah lounge for a few hours to have coffee and just relax! It was a great night!

Saturday we had a family, lazy day at the house ... a much needed one! It was nice to all just be together for the day. On Sunday, we went to Sitty & Sedo's for a Mother's Day cookout. We had a great time. Everyone was there, except Iymon, he had to work, but we did get to visit with his new bride, Samia! Lincoln and Layah spent most of their time running around in the backyard in the wet grass ....yuck! They didn't seem bothered by it one bit, they were having a blast!

Layah and Lincoln even helped Ash and Sedo with the grilling! :)

And after our yummy dinner, Sedo, Lincoln and Layah sure did enjoy their cupcakes! :)

I had a wonderful Mother's Day & Anniversary weekend!
