Today we went to the CMOM for some fun times with our friends, Courtney & Pierce! It was a great time! We actually got to visit while the boys played together! I think the biggest hit of the day was fishing in the fishin' hole for sure! Both boys are obsessed with sea critters! Especially sharks and whales!
My birthday was on September 21st and it was a great one!!! Ash and I enjoyed sushi take-out from one of my favorite places, SPR, and they bought me an iPhone ...YAY! It was probably good that we opted for the night in with take-out ...because I was playing with my new phone all night! :) Nothing like a new toy!
Lincoln was a huge fan of the cupcakes with icing! I think he ate the icing off all four of them! :) He kept wanting us to re-light the candle and sang Happy Birthday, over and over and over... And did I mention he wore his Halloween costume for my birthday, also! :)
On Wednesday, Jen Kennedy took us to lunch at Happy Mexican to celebrate!! Great friend, great food and great times! We had a blast! Thanks, Jen Ken! Afterwards we took a little trip to Target to look around! While we were there Jen found a great pair of shoes ...but unfortunately Lincoln took a liking into them also and I thought I was going to have to buy them just to get him to leave the store! It was hilarious watching him walk the shoe aisles with his new "boots" as he kept calling them! But let me just tell you it was NO FUN when I took them off of him, he lost it in the store and there wasn't one person in the store that DIDN'T here him freaking out!!
He may kill me one day for posting these, but I just had to!
Our family friend, Whitney, came to visit us back in August for a weekend! We love it when she comes to visit! We took her and Lincoln to Incredible Pizza for lunch and to play games! Lincoln had a blast in the 1950's (I think thats the right time frame) Chevy...
He had a BLAST!
While Whitney was here we also broke out the Guitar Hero ...Fun STUFF!!! It was a competition between us girls ...and Ash who thought he was Pat Benetar & C.C. Deville! ha! It was really alot of fun! I can see how people get addicted to it! :)
Tonight was the Daughtry concert! Yay! We had an awesome time! It was a great night for Ash and I and a group of friends! AND OF COURSE ...didn't get even one picture of us together! :( I know Jen took one of Ben and I & I took one of her and Ben ...but not Ash and me! We had so much fun though, pictures or no pictures! And Jen & I even said we were going to get a picture of all 4 of us! :( Didn't happen! Next time for sure though!
We had a fantastic time! It was my first time to see a concert at Minglewood! If you haven' t been yet, you must go! We had a VIP suite, so we really had it made, but it's a great show no matter where you are standing in there!
It was my first night out with Ben & Jen in a LONG, LONG while and we were so overdue, but now I'm ready for a night in with them ....where I can here them when we talk! haha!!
We also went to our coffee shoe for some coffee & hookahs afterwards!!! Fun times!!! I guess since I plugged Minglewood for them, I should plug Oasis for us! haha! It was Ben & Jen's first time! I know the grape leaves appetizer was a sure hit! haha, right Jen!
Well, its super late and I have no idea why or how I'm still awake, so I best turn in! Goodnight...
Today my good friend, Lori, and I took Lincoln to see the movie Up that is out! She had already taken her students to see it a few weeks ago and said Lincoln would really enjoy it, so we all went! He LOVED it! We had a blast! He sat through the entire movie without needing to get up or taking a nap. He sat so quietly and ate his popcorn! I was so proud of him!
It was such a sweet little movie, sad at moments, but such a good story. We will definitely have to add that one to our collection!
Lori came over to watch Lincoln today so I could get may hair cut and colored. Lincoln loves playing with Lori or "Flowie" as he calls her these days. They had a blast! They were enjoying sidewalk chalk and bubbles! It was funny because Lincoln was wearing a Smurf t'shirt today and funny that he ended up with blue hands too! :) Lori took a great picture of our little smurf and sent it to me!!!
Just like his Daddy orders his!!!! Yep! Lincoln not only looks like his Daddy, big eyebrows and all, he orders his ice cream the exact same way, too! Blue cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears on top! Last week we went to Cold Stone with Molly and Lincoln discovered he is his dad made over!
I took Lincoln to Baskin Robbins a few weeks ago and he wanted blue ice cream, so I told the lady to give me whatever she had that was blue, well she gave me Daquairi Ice ...yep, not really blue, more a translucent green color and a little tart for a 2 year old! He hated it and decided that when at Baskin Robbins he likes Orange ice cream instead! Sherbert that is!!!! I guess at that age its more about the color than anything! :)
Lincoln loves everything about Cotton Candy BLUE!!!! :) Sorry about the crazy hair, we normally fix his hair several times a day in the morning and after his nap, think we missed the one after his nap and before leaving the house because his hair is CRAZY in this picture!!! :) ha!
Tonight Lincoln and I had a date with Lori! Her new husband, Todd, had to work and Ash is out of town, so her, Lincoln & I went out! We ate dinner at The Butcher Shop and then we went to check out the Spring Market at the Agricenter! We had a really great time walking around and looking at all different booths! Lincoln did great and didn't get as bored as I thought he might! I bought him a book at one of the booths and he read it most of the time we walked around! Yay! It was pretty busy even as late as we went ....it was Girls Night tonight, they were serving free drinks to the ladies and they were right ...no men insight (other than those selling)! ha!
They had lots of the same things in multiple booths ....jewelry, monogramming, purses & wallets! It was worth it though, lots to see and shopping is always fun with friends! If you don't have anything to do this weekend, worth going to see! I think it's going on until Sunday! I posted the link above to their website, so check it out!
Thanks Lori for a great date night! Lincoln and I had a great time! Thanks for inviting us!
We spent the weekend in Las Vegas! It was fabulous! Our friend, Lori, got married there and Lincoln was "supposed" to be the ring bearer (AKA her bling bearer), but unfortunately he didn't make it down the aisle! His words exactly, before he and I were supposed to walk down the aisle, were "NO WAY!" I hate he didn't make it down because he looked so cute in his little suit vest!
We had a great time in Vegas, it was my first time and I can't wait to go back again! My mom went with us to help with Lincoln and she enjoyed her time with him on Thursday and Friday, but unfortunately she got the stomach flu on Saturday and she was so sick until we all got on a place to fly home on Sunday. We felt so bad for her because she felt so bad.
Thursday night was girls night and we went to a show and then went out to a club ....as the saying goes, "What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas!" We had a great time!
Friday night we had tickets to see Criss Angel's Show BELIEVE! It was amazing! Everything about the show was great ...the magic, the dancing, the stage was fantastic, everything!
Saturday during the day we went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay hotel. It was really cool and Lincoln really enjoyed it! He is always drawn to the turtles, they are his favorite! That afternoon we took a few hours before the wedding to walk down the strip to see what all we could in the few short hours! We had a great time! Our friend, Jessica, went with us on our journey of the strip. My favorite hotel was The Venetian. It was gorgeous. I so wanted to go on a gondola ride, but we didn't have the time. I'm hoping that our next trip there, that we can stay there!
Saturday night was Lori's wedding. She got married in a wonderful chapel at the Mandalay Bay hotel. It was a short ceremony, but so intiment. She looked so beautiful and so happy. The reception was dinner at Ruth's Chris.
I've decided that there is no way to accomplish Vegas in 3 short days, I need another week there to see and do all the things that we ran out of time for this trip! I can't wait to go back...
I went to the hospital on Saturday to visit one of my greatest friends, Kim and her new baby girl, Katie! Jeff and Katie just welcomed Katie Elisabeth Hill! She arrived on Friday at 3:13pm and weighed 6lb 5oz. She is absolutely beautiful! Both Mommy and baby are doing great! I know I'm so happy she has finally arrived so I can start spoiling her rotten!
Meet Katie... I could just eat her up... Smiling at me while she sleeps...
Last night, Lincoln and I got to help judge Christmas Lights in a Germantown neighborhood with a great friend of ours. I guess I shouldn't say what neighborhood it was incase anyone reading this lives there ...don't want anyone hunting us down because they didn't win! HA! We had a great time! It was so nice to drive around and see what people did to their houses, yards, etc! Some people were so creative and some you could tell had professional help ...and some could have used the professional help! But it was so fun! I think Lincoln was more a fan of the inflatable decor and a BIG TRUCK parked in one persons driveway! It sure was a great way to help get into the spirit! And it sure made me want to try putting up lights next year!
Wow, what a beautiful day it is today! The weather is amazing! This is my time of year for sure! I love the breeze, the beautiful colors and the sound of the leaves! Lincoln loves it too! He can run around and not be miserable hot! We had a great time playing with his basketball and then the soccer ball. It felt amazing out there! Lincoln is getting really good with the soccer ball and with the basketball. He knows to kick his soccer ball and he is really good at controlling it. He plays catch and tackle with the basketball...and he tackles hard! And then late this afternoon our friend, Jen, came by to see us! She was introduced to sidewalk chalk! I think she really enjoyed it ...and she can draw a pretty good truck, I must say! Might have to get her some! Thanks for coming to play, Jen!
We had Lincoln's 2nd birthday party this weekend. It was great! We had it at the Memphis Zoo which was awesome! He loved it and I think all the other kids did too! The weather was PERFECT! They had a huge party room to run around in and chase Poppy, they had the rides right outside which was a huge hit and then what better than a place full of animals! We had a great weekend with friends and family. It was nice to have everyone together! Cindy brought Crystal, Ethan & Evan in from Texas, Ganny came in town last weekend, Poppy came in town on Friday and Janet brought Caroline and Camille up for the day. Ethan, Evan, Caroline and Camille loved getting to spend time with Mahdee, Hadi and Layah for the day. It was just an overall great weekend!
Lincoln and I had a great day today. We went to Folk's Folly to see our friends. We had a great time visiting with them, I sure miss my girls. Donna, Heidi and I spent time chatting while Lincoln learned some tunes on the piano with Patrick. Patrick was so good with him and Lincoln had a blast! Guess we have a Rockstar on our hands after all and will be investing in a piano for the house! After our trip to the Folly we headed off to our new favorite park. We went a few times over the last week and love it. They have a spray park, but I thought it was closed since it's after Labor Day ...I was wrong! Lincoln had a blast splashing around today. The weather was still hot so it wasn't too cold to get wet! I just wish I had known about this place this summer ...at least I know where we will be spending alot of time next summer.
