The Toddler-Cave...

Lincoln officially has two rooms in this house that belong to HIM! :) We finally got the playroom functioning and he is loving his new space! And we are loving his new space and the fact that we are no longer tripping over toys in the den! He spends more time in his playroom then he does in his bedroom now. Wonder if I can convince him to sleep on the futon and let me turn his bedroom into a crafts room???? Hmmm ....that might be pushing my luck! :) Let me know what you think of his new space...

And none of this could have been done without the help of my trusty carpenters ...Ash and Lincoln! I managed to capture a few pictures while they were busy at work! :)

Let the grilling out begin...

We have a great backyard and a great patio space, but until recently the brick patio was somewhat hazardous because the bricks were uneven and jagged. We recently had it re-bricked! It looks great and most importantly its safe! Now its time to start grilling out!! I feel better about Lincoln playing on it and its great to see him enjoy the space, too!

I have this great flower stand in the backyard and now that the patio looks so nice, made me want to actually buy plants and fix up the yard! I'm so excited about it now! My mom is in town and she helped me pick some flowers ....that I should be able to keep alive! :)

Lincoln even helped us water the plants today, feed the birds and wash the chair cushions! Such a great little helper...

The next James Bond...

We had lots of family functions this weekend to celebrate Iymon & Samia's wedding. Last night was the actual wedding and it was beautiful. Samia looked gorgeous and they both seemed really excited that the day had arrived! I wish I had taken pictures at the wedding, but between dancing, dancing and more dancing there was no time. There were several photographers there so as soon as they post the pictures I will upload them for everyone to see. I did capture one moment before the night got started! Lincoln enjoying a bag of potato chips in the lobby of the hotel.

The next James Bond....

He looked so adorable in his little tux and his "shiny shoes!"

Ganny & Lori were great with Lincoln! They kept him company the whole weekend!

Target addiction...

I guess Lincoln got his love of Target from me ...ha! It has become an addiction for him as well. He even cried when we passed one tonight. He can spot them from literally a mile away. We passed the one on Nonconnah Parkway (which we rarely even go to) tonight and he saw it! He got it honestly from me! I've passed them before and wanted to cry because I couldn't go in!

Always say please & thank-you...

I have to brag for one moment about Lincoln ...as if my blog isn't a big brag already, but that's besides the point! :) ha! We have really been working on manners with him and I must say, he is really doing a fabulous job with them!

He's been saying please for a long time now and thank-you, also! But my favorite that he is really been working on in the last few weeks is "you're welcome!" It has to be one of the cutest things to hear! He has also been working on the last month saying he is sorry (hence the naughty-corner) and also excuse me!

I blame Nadeen for his belching, but I applaud him that he at least says, "excuse me" or "scuse me" when he is done! :) Thanks, Dean!

So, we are really working on the manners and proud of him for using them so well!!! That's my brag for the night ...hope you all enjoyed it! :) Good night!

Ah, listen to the beautiful music...

So, it's been 2 1/2 years since Ash and I have had control of the radio in my car. Since I am the primary chauffeur of Lincoln, I am the one that's been desperate to listen to anything ...and I mean ANYTHING on the radio! :) People ask what music I like to listen to ....hmm.... I say, I don't know what is even on the radio anymore!

Lincoln loves the DVD player in the car and its probably one of the greatest inventions for anyone with children, but I hear Spongebob, Monster Trucks & Diego at home and also in the car! I noticed the other day that I have gotten so good at tuning it out in the car that I sometimes just hear the road noise ...this leads me to the greatest part of this weekend! LINCOLN DISCOVERED HE LOVES HIS HEADPHONES IN THE CAR! Hallelujah, I can listen to those great mixed cd's that Nadeen made me ...FINALLY and find out what the heck they are playing on the radio these days!

He looked absolutely adorable with his headphones on and seemed to love the DVD player that much more! He was talking more with the movies and interacting more with them as well. I think before it just put him in a DVD coma, but now he is actually listening & enjoying ....and BOY ARE WE ENJOYING IT TOO! :)

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest quality, but my camera-phone doesn't take the best ones! Hint, hint Ash if you are reading this, I think a Blackberry would take much better ones! :)

Our little Picasso...

Lincoln loves art! He colors all the time and has just discovered he loves to PAINT! We tried it before and he didn't seem to like it too much. He didn't like the mess of it before ...but being a 2 1/2 year old little boy, mess doesn't seem to bother him anymore! :) The messier ...the better! We painted yesterday and I didn't think he was ever going to stop! He actually got mad because I made him quite to eat lunch and take a nap. You would have thought I had beat him he was so upset! Guess we will be painting alot around here!

Our hope is that this weekend we can get the playroom together! Ash moved his home office away from home ...hard to get anything done with Lincoln and I in the house! So we are turning that room into a playroom, so Ash and I can take back over the den. Lincoln has graciously allowed us to have our own bedroom, but he thinks that the rest of the house is his! :) SO, THE TOYS ARE GOING TO BE IN HIS ROOM AND PLAYROOM FROM HERE ON OUT! Yahoo!!! Will post some pictures when we get it all together! It has a great tile floor in there, but we want to cover it with padding and a big rug or a piece of carpet so it will be safer for playing! Will keep everyone updated as we finish it!

Chocolate eggs & jelly beans...

After going to Ganny & Papa's we met up with Ash in Dallas for Easter weekend. Poppy, Ganny & Papa also came to visit!

Thursday night the kids all had a slumber party at the hotel with Ash, Poppy and I ...it was fun! The kids had a blast! We had them bring in a cot, so they bounced from bed to cot, to bed again! Luckily our neighbors didn't complain from the noise!

Friday, Poppy, Ash and I took the kids to see the 3D movie Monsters vs Aliens! It was so cute! I can't remember ever seeing a 3D movie before, so it might have been both a first for Lincoln and me! He did great ...he managed to wear his glasses for part of it and the rest of the movie must have just been a little blurry, but he didn't seem to mind! He watched the whole movie in his seat which was a huge accomplishment ...and he stayed awake the whole time! Lincoln refused to pose for the picture, but I managed to get a cute one of Ethan & Evan in their glasses...

The kids enjoyed playing at the fountain in the Southlake Town Square next to our hotel. Something about kids and fountains. Its amazing the joy a few pennies brings!

Hated that Crystal missed it, but she had to work on Good Friday! :(

Saturday, Cindy had us all over for Easter lunch since we all would be traveling home on Easter Sunday. She did a great job, the food was wonderful! She even made the best homemade bunny cake that was just as yummy as it was cute! The kids had a blast eating candy, dying eggs and hunting them in her back yard! Lincoln was more excited about the candy, so he only hunted the eggs once ...but Ethan and Evan had us hiding them probably 10 times! :) It was a blast!!! Cindy even heated up her pool so Ethan and Evan could get in for a few minutes!

Another trip to the country...

Ash went to Europe for a week for work. Instead of staying home all that time just Lincoln and me ...we packed up and headed west! We went to see Ganny & Papa before going to Dallas for Easter weekend. Lincoln had a blast at Ganny & Papa's as usual! And its always great for me, too!

Lincoln loves all this little "chores" at their house. He is so proud of them and feels all grown up doing them! He gets to feed the cats, feeds the birds outside, goes and gets the mail & he helps water the plants! Here are a few pictures of him doing a few of them...

Lincoln is fascinated with bulls, horses and cows. His newest & favorite thing to watch on tv is bull-riding ...yes, you are reading that right ...our child is a redneck! :) PBR (for those who don't know what that means ...Professional Bull Riders) ...here he comes! I think that is what he will be when he grows up! :) That or a Monster Truck Driver ...ha!

Anyway, while we were in Stephenville, Papa and I took him to watch the barrel racers get ready for their weekend. I guess they ride in groups and they have to qualify by getting certain times to do that, that is what we got to see! It was really neat to watch and Lincoln was in just awww of it! We got there on Monday and I guess that weekend there was actually a bull-riding event that we missed:( I would have loved to see his eyes at one of those events!

We had a wonderful time visiting Ganny & Papa for four days and can't wait to go back! Here are a few other pictures from our trip!

Date Night With Lori...

Tonight Lincoln and I had a date with Lori! Her new husband, Todd, had to work and Ash is out of town, so her, Lincoln & I went out! We ate dinner at The Butcher Shop and then we went to check out the Spring Market at the Agricenter! We had a really great time walking around and looking at all different booths! Lincoln did great and didn't get as bored as I thought he might! I bought him a book at one of the booths and he read it most of the time we walked around! Yay! It was pretty busy even as late as we went ....it was Girls Night tonight, they were serving free drinks to the ladies and they were right ...no men insight (other than those selling)! ha!

They had lots of the same things in multiple booths ....jewelry, monogramming, purses & wallets! It was worth it though, lots to see and shopping is always fun with friends! If you don't have anything to do this weekend, worth going to see! I think it's going on until Sunday! I posted the link above to their website, so check it out!

Thanks Lori for a great date night! Lincoln and I had a great time! Thanks for inviting us!
